1. The Gambia has only one university.

17. President Robert Mugabe is Africa’s oldest Head of State and the world’s second oldest Head of State. He was born in 1924.

18. The Seychelles are the most educated Africans. Seychelles’ literacy rates (Adult: 92%, Youth: 99%) Zimbabwe is 2nd (Adult: 91.2%, Youth: 99%).

19. Rwanda is a better country for gender equality than England and USA.

20. Somalia got its first ATM on the 7th of October, 2014.

22. Ethiopia has the most airports in Africa.

23. Ethiopia’s economy is growing faster than China’s.

24. Eritrea’s president, Isaias Afwerki, and Zimbabwe’s president, Robert Mugabe, are the least rich President in Africa (in terms of annual salary).

25. Ethiopia is Africa’s oldest independent country. It has existed for over 3,000 years without being colonised.

26. Haile Selassie 1 was the 225th and last Emperor of Ethiopia.

27. Nigeria has the most monarchs in the world.

28. Angola has more Portuguese speakers than Portugal.

29. President Jose Eduardo Dos Santos has ruled Angola since 1979.

30. President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo is Africa’s longest serving Head of State. He has ruled Equatorial Guinea since August 3, 1979 when he overthrew his uncle, Francisco Nguema. His son, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue is his vice president and will succeed him if he resigns. He started ruling on the 22nd of May, 2012.

31. George Weah of Liberia is the first man to win World, European and African Footballer of the Year in the same year. He won all these titles in 1995.

32. Swaziland is the only remaining absolute monarch in Africa.

33. The Gambia is the smallest country in Africa followed by Swaziland.

34. King Sobhuza ll of Swaziland is
the longest verifiable reign of any monarch in recorded history. He was the paramount chief and later the king of Swaziland for 82 years. He had 70 wives and 210 children between 1920 and 1970.

34. The Dein of Agbor Kingdom of Nigeria, Obi Ikenchukwu Benjamin Keagborekuzi 1, is the youngest monarch in the world. He was crowned at the tender age of 28 months (2 years and 4 months).

35. Zimbabwe is the only country in the world were almost everyone was a billionaire at one point.

36. The Igbo language, which is one of the most spoken indigenous languages in Nigeria, is an official language in Equatorial Guinea.

37. Nigeria is the most devout/religious country in the world.

38. Africa has a population of about 1.111bn people, with Nigeria contributing about 16%.

39. South Africa is the only African country with 3 capitals: Pretoria, Bloemfontein and Cape Town.

40. At present, Libya is the African country having the highest valued expensive money value (currency) united than all other African nations.

41. Africa’s population is the youngest among all the continents; 50% of Africans are 19 years old or younger.

42. Although Reunion Island and Mayotte are within the African continent (with Mozambique, Madagascar and Mauritius as their neighbours), they belong to the European zone and their currency is Euro.
